Eating & Gastronomy in Almeria

An fabulous ingredient in the cuisine of this area is the wonderfully fresh fish. In Garrucha, squid and red mullet are served grilled. In other towns they form part of the fish chowders which are a true speciality of the region:

"Sopa de Almería" in Almería city,

"Caldo colorado" in Carboneras and Mójacar

"Caldo de pescado" around the lower reaches of the Almanzora.

Another way to enjoy fish is provided by the famous "moragas" - traditional to Mójacar.
