Torrevieja is found on the coast in Southern Costa Blanca.
Torrevieja is just 45 kms from Alicante, the provincial capital
and 35 km from San Javier International airport in Murcia.
It is ideally located for a second home or short breaks.
The climate is dry and equable through the year with over
300 days of sunshine a year. Torrievieja has fabulous beaches
and fantastic weather. The World Health Organization has identifies
this area as having some of the healthiest climate in Europe.
Torrevieja is a city full of history, including the Roman
pier at La Mata and many wonderful churches. Torrevieja is
surrounded by salt lagoons, which are designated as National
Nature Parks.
Torrevieja area is renown for golf. These include Villmartin,
which hosted the Mediterranean Open in 1994, Las Ramblas,
Quesada, Campoamor and the newly built La Finca. These are
all less than 15 minutes drive from Torrevieja. A little further
away is the famous La Manga Golf Club. There are also a multitude
of tennis clubs, a flying club, football stadium, bull ring,
water park and fairground. Several theatres and cinemas also
in place.
