West of the town are some new developments but no high-rise
blocks. Most of the new development is in urbanisations at
the north of the town but again strictly controlled. Most
of the urbanisations are a 5-10 minute drive from the old
town or half an hour’s walk.
Regular busses run to Malaga and Granada. The fare to Malaga
is only 3 or 4 euros.
Add all this to 320 days of sunshine a year and it is no
surprise to find that the Nerja area is so sought after at
the moment. As prices are very reasonable compared to the
Costa del Sol West of Malaga we feel this area offers good
investment potential.
Further inland there are miles and miles of Andalucian countryside
to explore. In the mountains behind Nerja, the beautifully
preserved, white washed village of Frigiliana seems little
changed by the centuries and enjoys panoramic views of the
town of Nerja and the sea. Frigiliana is a charming and dramatically
sited Andalucian village built on a mountain side, approx.
6 km from the resort of Nerja.
Other towns such as Torrox, Torre del Mar and the stunning
Competa offer excellent property at cheaper prices than Nerja.
